If you are visiting in weekend/holidays advance reservation is advisable.
Maharashtra State Bus service has launched a new AC bus from Mumbai central to Alibag.
You can also avail Regular bus or Asiad the semi luxury buses from
Thane, Borivali Dadar Kurla Panvel and from Shivaji nagar Swargate in Pune.
The buses are in good condition and the travel time is around 3 to 3.5 hours.
But of course if you are travelling by car and travelling from Mumbai or Thane you need to come till PANVEL and it’s a straight road to Alibag from there.
Guests from Pune come via LONAVALA, KHOPOLI, PEN AND THEN ALIBAG.
Use GPS Navigation on your device or Mobile it will be great help.

Ferry

The fastest and the cheapest way to reach Alibaug from Mumbai is by ferry to alibaug. Ferries to Alibaug are available from Gate Way of India and 'Bhaucha Dhakka'.

If you want to bring your two wheeler you need to go to 'Bhaucha Dhakka' you can load your bikes in the ferry and land in Revas which is just on the opposite side of Mandwa.

There are three operators who provide the ferry service, Ajantha, Maldar and PNP. They also offer air conditioned ferries which are a boon especially during summers.
